Kavalan Makes Theatre Owner Happy

Kaavalan’s impressive performance at the box-office has made the theatre owners to eat their own words, as they had underestimated the movie before its release. The movie, which was released on January 15, is still running full houses in most of the theatres in Tamil Nadu.

Kaavalan faced many troubles during the making of the film and while releasing the film. Theatre owners, who were demanding Vijay to to pay 35 % of Sura’s loss, threatened him during release that they would not screen the film if he failed to reimburse. They also underestimated the movie stating Vijay’s series of flops.

Finally, after Vijay’s interference the movie got 350 screens for the release, which is said to be very less considering the actor’s earlier releases. Meanwhile, its first week collection was not up to the mark and it received mixed response from the critics. But the movie has done well in the second week, says report.

The Distributors’ Council Chairman Kalaipuli G Sekaran, in a press statement, has lashed out at the theatre owners for deciding not to screen Vijay’s films until he makes good the losses suffered by them for screening Sura and going against Aascar Ravichandran for taking up the distributorship of Kaavalan. In a press release, Kalaipuli G Sekaran has questioned whether the theatre owners would refund the ticket amount to cine-goers if they complain that the film is not up to their expectation. Profit and loss are a part of every business and the theatre owners should realize it instead of shifting the blame on the hero of the film for its losses, the press note states.

Kaavalan Pongal Release Ad Stills – Kaavalan Photos

Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s much expected movie Kaavalan is set to release. Kaavalan is expected to be release world wide on this pongal in nearly 400 theaters.An official ad from the Kaavalan producers has been released on recently on newspapers stating that the movie will be release for 2011 pongal.

Earlier the movie was expected to release on December 10 and December 23rd. Kaavalan audio was release on December 8th and the songs are already become a huge hit.

‘Kavalan’ is a remake of the super hit Malayalam film ‘Bodyguard’. It is about a body guard and the beautiful daughter of a rich man falling in love without knowing to each other and later separate without wanting to. What happened to their love and after is the story. The first half is expected to be a hilarious entertainer while the story tales a serious turn in the second half and the climax will be a shocker.

It is the 51st film of Vijay. Asin, Mithra Kurian and Raj Kiran are major actors in the film. Vadivelu is there for comedy and Roja returns playing the wife of Raj Kiran. Director Siddique, who gave one of the biggest hits of Vijay, ‘Friends’ is the director of ‘Kavalan’
